The combined commercial success and technical challenges of Acoma pottery in the past three decades has resulted in the development of a new "Sky City" style. More souvenir than art, men and women buy ready-made forms, otherwise known as greenware, and using commercial paints, create designs that evoke traditional Acoma pottery. Some designs, as seen here, can be quite elegant.
