Lorraine Chinama (b.1955) — Jemez Pueblo
Sometimes potters create a favored form and it becomes their signature style. Such is the case for Chinama who borrowed ideas from Acoma potters but made them her own through her use of materials, etching the designs after the pottery is fired. While she has made this form for several years, she manages to make each new pot fresh and alive, filled with creative energy and emotion.
