Polychrome Ladle (#92)
Blue Corn (1921–1999)— San Ildefonso Pueblo
Blue Corn was a prolific potter, making her first pots at the age of three. She learned and practiced for many years to make black on black pottery. In the 1960s she began experimenting with polychrome pottery making as well, using new mineral paint colors. This small but significant piece is well made and demonstrates Blue Corn's propensity to experiment and find new mineral paint colors.
