Tenorio is indisputably one of the finest Santo Domingo Pueblo potters of the 20th century. Robert has been a life-long student of pueblo pottery, never ceasing in his experimenting, learning, and trying of new ideas. He has used numerous plants as a source for the black paint, and has tried numerous clays for the cream slip. Some work, some don't, but he never tires of trying.  He makes functional pottery for his own use as well as for other members of his village.
