Rainey Naha (b.1949) — Hopi-Tewa

It is clear that Dr. Poliakoff appreciated certain potters. Although he left no written record of his preferences, vessels made by Rainey, her sister Sylvia and their mother Helen Naha in his collection indicates his appreciation of the family's pottery style. In rapid succession, he purchased the three pieces for his collection. By admiring together the work of a mother and daughters, no doubt Dr. Poliakoff like us today forms a sense of a family potting traditions as well as the individual creativity of each family member.
