Yeibechai Tapestry Weaving (#133)
Yeibechai or Navajo deities depicted in Navajo night dances have been woven into textiles made to sell for over a hundred years. Interest in Navajo culture is one reason that weavers began making these distinctive textiles. Distinguished by their smaller dimension and finer thread size, tapestry weavings such as this one were intended to hang on the wall instead of serving as floor rugs or bed coverings.
