Polychrome Jar
Polychrome Jar (#33)

Jemez pottery was dormant for many decades but bloomed again in the 1970s. Jemez potters practice many styles of pottery. The shape of this pot honors early nineteenth century Zuni and Hopi pottery forms. Gachupin has borrowed three other Pueblos’ designs for his pot— a classic Zuni parrot or bird design, Zia feathers, and Santo Domingo flowers.
